PROGRESSIVE READING GLASSES

Progressive lenses are no-line multifocal eyeglass lenses that look exactly the same as single vision lenses. In other words, progressive lenses will help you see clearly at all distances without those annoying (and age-defining) "bifocal lines" that are visible bifocals and trifocals. Example of a progressive lens design.Progressive lenses are line-free multifocals that have a seamless progression of added magnifying power for intermediate and near vision. The power of progressive lenses changes gradually from point to point on the lens surface, providing the correct lens power for seeing objects clearly at virtually any distance. Progressive lenses sometimes are called "no-line bifocals" because they don't have this visible bifocal line. But progressive lenses have a significantly more advanced multifocal design than bifocals or trifocals.

BENEFITS

They offer several different brands and styles of frames that are suitable for a variety of activities and occasions, including glasses with progressive lenses.

Progressive lenses are for those who have lost the ability to read fine print (presbyopia), which happens in our 40s. Historically, the only corrective option was wearing bifocals that allow for close viewing, as well as far-viewing capabilities when you look up from the bifocal area. However, they do not provide an intermediate viewing area (three to 20 feet away) or a continuous field of vision.

Progressive lenses not only give you a continuous field of vision, but they also replace the need to have multiple pairs of glasses for multiple functions and activities, which can be a frustrating and tedious task for the wearer. They also help to increase the edge-to-edge clarity, and offer full-range vision correction.

There are several options for progressive lenses, one of which are multi-focal progressive lenses. These are ideal for distance and reading, but do not have any bifocal lines. They offer intermediate and distance vision and take away the need for owning two pairs of glasses.
